**AcroYoga for the Absolute Beginner: Game of Thrones!**

Date: Saturday 15th June

Time: 12pm-2.30pm

Location: The Training Space, The Island, Nelson St, BS1 2LE

New to AcroYoga, nervous or just up for going over some basics and having some fun? This is the workshop for you!

In this workshop we will review a few simple AcroYoga poses before starting to piece them together, exploring the skills required to move through the transitions. We will particularly be looking at the different AcroYoga throne variations - stepping, popping, flowing in and out of them!

Don't worry if you are new or nervous - will take things step by step, prepping with a dynamic monkey fitness warm-up and exploring the 3 roles of base, flyer and spotter so we all have a firm understanding of the basics before we step onto someone's feet and take flight! If you have never done AcroYoga before, don't worry - this is still the space for you to explore the practice!

This is going to be a fun, challenging and hilarious workshop - and a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment.

Just bring yourself, maybe some snacks and a bottle of water (you will get sweaty and you will also, maybe, be going upside down!). There will be two teachers (Danny and Ash) to help and field any questions you might have.

Cost: £20 each or £35 for two :)

The Teacher

Ash is Bristol’s first resident AcroYoga teacher. Upon arriving in Bristol after having lived in Asia for a number years, Ash sought to create a community of AcroYogis and Bristol being the magical place that it is, it didn’t take long. It started with just 5 playing in parks and people’s living rooms and now the AcroYoga Bristol community is thriving, with 3 teachers and over 1000 people on the Facebook group!

Ash is a full time Yoga teacher (full bio on flyingmonkeyyoga.org) and writer and has been working with AcroYoga for around 6 years. She has been lucky enough to study with some of the world’s finest AcroYoga teachers, and will always be grateful to Kathy Gade, Bex Tyrer, Melissa Smith and Erica Montes for showing her the depth and breadth of the practice. She dips her toes into the acrobatic world, having recently co-authored a book with professional acrobat Gabrielle Parker, but her practice still stays very much in the yoga-verse and loves AcroYoga for its playfulness and joy! Her passion is teaching beginners to take flight :)
